Weeks was director of the Center for Management at Sioux Falls College and holds an M.A. from the University of South Dakota; she has completed postgraduate work in business management and adult education.

Janis Fisher Chan, who contributed extensively to this revision is cofounder of Advanced Communication Designs, Inc., a training company established to help people communicate clearly and work together effectively. A specialist in training program design, Ms. Chan has developed, written, and conducted customized classroom and self-study courses on a wide range of business topics, including making effective presentations, professional writing skills, performance management, and project management.
