Margaret J. Palmer is a specialist in the areas of management and organizational development. Ms. Palmer, who has a Ph.D. in organizational psychology, teaches courses in management, communication, and organizational studies at the University of Southern Maine, Portland and Lewiston. She is the owner of Healthcare Management Consulting Group through which she works with hospitals and health care agencies on such issues as the nursing crisis, management training, and organizational change. She is the author of the American Management Association's self-study course A Manager's Guide to Human Behavior, Third Edition. The publisher wishes to thank James W.
